Curate Good: One to One Mentoring
Helping youth in San Miguel County build confidence, resilience, and belonging through professionally supported mentoring relationships.
At Curate Telluride, we believe short-term rentals can do more than provide incredible stays to our guests - they can make a meaningful impact in the community and environment where we live, work, and recreate. Through Curate Good, our community giving initiative, we donate 1% of all commission revenue to local nonprofits, matched by a 1% donation of all rental revenue from our generous homeowners. Together, we’re giving back to Telluride and supporting the community that makes our existence possible.
Whether it’s supporting local arts, youth sports, animal welfare, or social services, there’s a reason our mission is to lead with relentless generosity, because when we give back, the whole community is stronger.
About One to One Mentoring
One to One Mentoring empowers youth in San Miguel County, Colorado to achieve their social, emotional, and academic potential through professionally supported mentor relationships. By pairing young people with caring, consistent adult mentors, One to One Mentoring helps youth build confidence, resilience, and a lasting sense of belonging.
Supporting Youth, One Relationship at a Time
Founded in 1994 by staff from San Miguel County’s Social Services and Juvenile Diversion departments, One to One Mentoring began under the framework of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Durango before becoming an independent nonprofit in 1999. Since then, the organization has served thousands of local youth, continually evolving to meet the diverse and changing needs of the community.
Today, One to One Mentoring supports youth from a wide range of backgrounds, including immigrant families, LGBTQ+ youth, young people navigating grief or chronic health challenges, and those seeking stable, trusted adult connections during critical stages of growth.
How the Program Works
One to One Mentoring supports youth through a combination of:
- One-on-one mentoring, with matches that last an average of over three years
- Case management with care, led by bilingual staff who collaborate closely with schools, families, and service providers
- Peer connection and group activities that foster belonging and positive relationships
- Community and cultural responsiveness, informed by ongoing feedback from youth and families
- Data-informed programming, using outcomes and lived experience to adapt and improve in real time
Why it works
This approach ensures that every mentee is supported not just academically, but emotionally and socially—helping them grow into confident, capable young adults.
